For the cookies:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- powdered sugar (for rolling out the dough)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, softened
- 3-4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (use white vanilla if you want white icing)
- 3-4 tablespoons milk
